Virginia Biotechnology Association member companies are eligible for as many as twelve different discount programs on items that you may need such as lab gases and equipment, hazardous waste removal, clinical trials liability insurance, basic office supplies, 401 K programs, national press releases and more. Since the annual VaBIO membership fee is as little as $375 for bioscience firms with fewer than 5 employees, you could save many more times that just in the savings from these group benefits.
Service providers, such as law firms, banks, construction companies and consultants, are valued members of VaBIO as well. Membership by such firms is an important gateway to networking opportunities, leadership roles, discounts on fees and listings in our online and hardcover directories. Service provider members are also eligible for the group discount programs and are eligible to serve on the board of directors and other leadership committees.

Bioscience Company Membership
This category is open to any for-profit biotech, device, medical technology business or life science-focused company. Membership investment is based on the number of employees in the company:

This category is open to any not-for-profit educational, governmental or other organization that conducts education, research, provides research grants, patent licensing or other assistance to biotechnology, device or life science-related companies. Associate Membership
This category is open to any for-profit organization that provides products and/or services to the biotechnology, device and life sciences industry. Examples are banking, accounting, legal, staffing, software and consulting firms. Membership investment is based on the number of employees of the company:

Individual & Student Membership
Individual Membership is open only to individuals whose occupational affiliation is NOT associated with or conducts business with, the life science industry. Examples would include teachers, retirees, or individuals who wish to support the industry but who are not employed by an organization that is covered by a category above. Anyone who wishes to join as an individual must contact VaBIO directly to apply. Students at any level may join VABIO by contacting the office for details.

Policy Statement
Cancellation Policy: Membership Investment is non-refundable after 14 business days. Refund will be issued in the amount of the original investment less a 10% service fee.
Applicants acknowledge that by applying for membership and providing a mailing address, e-mail address, telephone and fax number, he or she has consented to receive communication sent by or on behalf of the Virginia Biotechnology Association (and its official partners, subsidiaries and affiliates) via regular mail, e-mail, telephone or facsimile transmittal.
Note: Voting rights are carried by one primary contact for Biotech and Non-Profit members. Associate, Individual and Student members do not carry voting rights.
