VA Teen Scientist Selected as One of Twenty "NBCLatino Innovators"

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, NBCLatino.com will present its second annual list of "NBCLatino Innovators.”
In partnership with NBC News and NBCNews.com, NBCLatino will profile 20
Hispanic innovators from around the world who have pioneered change in
society, science, technology, medicine and the arts. Their inspirational
stories will be told through articles, photos and video on
NBCLatino.com through Sunday, October 13.
in this prestigious list, along with Pope Francis, actress Eva Longoria
and others, is teen scientist Samantha Marquez of Richmond. Samantha
represented Virginia Bio and was selected as a top ten finalist at the
U.S. National BioGENEius Challenge during the BIO International
Convention in Chicago this March.

The "NBCLatino Innovators”
series will appear on "TODAY” and "NBC Nightly News.” The affiliates of
NBC and Telemundo will be able to provide their audiences with these
Innovators stories online and on air. The stories will be rolled out
individually throughout the series and the Innovators will be
prominently profiled across NBCLatino’s social media platforms.
