LifeNet Health Institute Of Regenerative Medicine February Lecture With Rocky Tuan
Thursday, February 19, 2015
The Institute of Regenerative Medicine (IRM) plays a significant role in LifeNet Health’s corporate commitment to foster education, discovery, and collaboration. Since its opening, guests from around the world have joined us as participants and guest lecturers. Those who benefit from this community outreach include students, researchers, health care providers, educators, scientific professionals, and LifeNet Health staff.
The lecture series consists of expert presentations that showcase world-class clinical and laboratory research, exploring fields highly germane to the mission of the IRM. Topics range from orthopedic and spine research, to cardiovascular, stem cells, cell therapy, tissue engineering, clinical studies, and beyond. This provides an unprecedented educational resource to LifeNet Health and Southeastern Virginia. These lectures are free and open to the public.
The next lecture is presented by Rocky S. Tuan, PhD on "Regenerative Applications of Adult Stem Cells and Biomimetic Scaffolds: Repair, Renovate, and Re-create" and will be held Monday, February 23rd at 2-3PM in the IRM Lecture Hall. Seating is limited.
Dr. Rocky Tuan is the Director, Center for Cellular and Molecular Engineering, the Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. Professor and Executive Vice Chair, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, the Associate Director, McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, the Director, Center for Military Medicine Research, and a Professor in the Departments of Bioengineering and Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
