Intimate discussion with Key Opinion Leaders in the cancer research field; Insightful feedback from life science industry leaders; Increased visibility, connections to cancer experts within NFCR's extensive network and access to business expertise in the U.S. and around the world; prize money of $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000 for first, second and third place finishers, respectively; prize winners move forward to a larger Venture Competition, where the most investable projects receive up to $250,000 in funding from NFCR.
Evaluated by jury panelists consisting of prominent cancer research scientists, clinicians, early-stage investors and business leaders, based on projects' feasibility, novelty and patient impact.
Translational cancer research projects, formally and verifiably associated with promising scientific discoveries, that are either within major universities, research hospitals, cancer centers or other such laboratories, or promising startup companies Submissions by principal investigators of projects with viable clinical trial approval prospects and whose intellectual property has not yet been licensed or acquired by parties outside of the applying institution are especially encouraged.
Confidentiality agreements will be signed by all judges and others present.
