Agricultural Bio: Biotechnology meets Virginia's largest industry.

By some measures Agriculture is Virginia's largest private sector industry. Biotechnology has played a key role in the green revolution and other advances of agriculture in the past decades, and is helping forge the high tech agriculture which will be called upon to meet global food security and other challenges in the decades ahead, including fuel and health. The Virginia Tech College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is among the nation's top ten university recipients for industry funding and government funding of research in the field, and an active collaborator with industry. Panelist will include Secretary of Agriculture & Forestry Todd Haymore; Alan Grant, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Science, Virginia Tech and Richard Kelly, CEO & Co-Founder, Nutriati, Inc.
