CIT is proud to partner with Prince William County’s Department of Economic Development to present a special lunch and learn session featuring a discussion of the Federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) funding programs.

SBIR/STTR provides $150K - $1.5M in early stage grants to small, for profit companies for high risk technology development that has commercialization potential. More than $2.2B in grants awarded each year via these programs. For those affiliated with universities, this can be an excellent tool to facilitate technology transfer from a university to small business. For early stage companies, SBIR/STTR provides funding that could not be secured by other private capital due to the early stage nature of the research.
