This one day event is for bioprocess engineering researchers in industry, academia, and government who want to learn how to apply metabolic engineering techniques to industrial fermentation for the efficient production of pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and fuels.

Topics Include:

1. Using SuperPRO Designer to evaluate bioprocess economics, assess the impact of metabolic engineering, and determine profitability of making a co-product.

2. Genome-scale metabolic flux modeling.

3. Deriving metabolic engineering strategies through modeling.

4. The latest techniques in DNA manipulation and assembly along with genome editing.

5. Synthetic circuit design and pathway expression optimization.

6. 13C-based metabolic flux analysis.

7. Metabolic pathway optimization (considering reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics in a large scale fermenter).
