VCU Requesting Project Ideas From Area Companies For Capstone Design Program
Wednesday, January 21, 2015
The School of Engineering at VCU is looking for project ideas from area companies for our Capstone Design program. A prerequisite to the Bachelor’s degree, Capstone Design features students working in teams to tackle and solve actual engineering problems within and across the fields of Chemical and Life Science, Mechanical and Nuclear, Biomedical, Electrical, and Computer Science and Engineering.
Sponsors, from the industrial community as well as VCU Health Science and local non-profits, ask VCU to resolve real needs that they have – and the students apply the engineering design process to the problem: defining functional requirements, conceptualization, analysis, identifying risks and countermeasures, selection, prototyping and testing. In other words, we MAKE IT REAL.
At the end of the two semester course in April, the student teams present their work at the Capstone Design Expo, held at the Virginia Science Center in Richmond.
Do you have a problem or opportunity that can benefit from a highly motivated team of VCU Engineers? If so, check out the program website and contact Dr. Ben Ward, Capstone Coordinator, at (804) 828-6371 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
