Speakers:


Heather Rice
 is a Partner and the Chesapeake Business Unit Leader for the Accounting Methods and Credits practice. She also serves as a National Credits Leader for the firm. Heather primarily focuses on Research and Development credits, accounting methods and IRS controversy/CAP/PFA applications. Heather has provided tax services to a wide variety of clients ranging from large SEC companies to privately held companies. She manages and consults across a variety of industries, including the life sciences industry.

David Kalman
 is a Managing Director in KPMG’s Accounting Methods and Credit Services practice. David has over 12 years of experience, with extensive public and private sector business knowledge and a proven track record of effectively servicing his clients in matters of federal taxation and government incentives. David’s industry experience is wide ranging, including manufacturing, technology, life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, retail, and government contracting.

Jessica Slean 
is a Senior Manager with over ten years of experience in tax and financial services consulting for public and privately held clients. Jessica focuses on tax accounting methods and credit services across numerous industries and commonly manages large R&D credit engagements in addition to managing large projects related to income and expense recognition, inventory, fixed assets, and depletion. Jessica recently participated in a rotation with KPMG’s Washington National Tax (WNT) practice, the technical core of KPMG’s tax practice in the United States.
