Now Accepting Nominations for Outstanding Contributions to Biosciences in Virginia
THRiVE 2026 Award Nominations
We are requesting nominations for individuals, companies, organizations, events, discoveries, or collaborations in the biosciences exemplifying the excellence, variety, and influence of the Virginia biosciences community.
Nominees may be contemporary or historical. Nominations for recognition are being accepted on-line through February 20, 2026. The two awardees will be selected from nominees by a panel comprised of past Board Chairs of Virginia Bio and the awardees honored at THRiVE 2026, Virginia Bio’s biannual statewide conference, happening at Capital One on April 30, in Richmond, VA.
The Virginia Bio Outstanding Contributions to Bioscience Award was established in 2013 to recognize individuals, companies, organizations, events, discoveries, or collaborations in the biosciences exemplifying the excellence, variety, and dynamism of the Virginia biosciences community. Every two years, we recognize Virginians for their significant contributions to bioscience and the Virginia biotechnology ecosystem, with this prestigious award! Past awardees include 1994 Nobel Prize winner Dr. Alfred Gilman, regenerative medicine company Revivicor, serial biotech entrepreneur Dr. Timothy Macdonald, among others.
